Many people speak of decolonizing the Church but fail to speak of the overall breadth of its effects in modern society. Many practice indigenous spirituality as part and parcel of their christian rituals yet lack an understanding of the ritual origins. This workshop aims to address some of these questions in the context of Latinidad. Presenters and participants will explore indigenous spirituality and its current role in our congregations and practices, and aim to understand how we can hear a God that still speaks to us all and how this voice calls us to address racialized and other underrepresented groups within the UCC.
